Staff augmentation within your own team.
Engineers join your standup and use your tools under your direction, working as part of your team.

Our staff augmentation services place engineers within your existing team. Skills and a signed contract alone do not solve the main problem: integration. Six weeks into a placement, separate standups, delayed access and different review processes can still slow the work. These gaps often go unreported because no specific failure stands out. We address the practical arrangements that prevent qualified engineers from working effectively with your staff.
We address integration through the way your engineering team works. Your new engineer needs to clone the repository, join meetings within their working hours and have pull requests reviewed on the same terms as your employees. A meeting an hour before they start excludes them. So does leaving their reviews at the back of the queue. These routine fixes get missed when a provider focuses only on starting quickly.
You decide what gets built, in what order and to what standard, because your team has the context those decisions need. We provide the infrastructure for hiring and employment. We find the engineer and test them against your actual stack, then employ them and support the placement if it goes wrong. We judge our work by how well they become part of yours. By the second month, your lead should see the engineer working with the same expectations as your employees.

How we share staffing responsibilities
Figures carry their source and year.
Staffing market costs and risks
Industry estimates suggest adding one developer to a project costs close to 320 hours of productivity.
Netguru, 2026Reports suggest around 74 percent of enterprises use staff augmentation to address talent shortages.
Vantage Market Research, 2026Dedicated teams and staff augmentation commonly reach equal costs at around 9 to 12 months of work.
ShiftAsia, 2026We manage each service through its specialist practice.
Our nine staff augmentation services
We search against your backlog. Being available does not make a candidate suitable.
We test candidates using your languages and frameworks, with problems modeled on your actual work.
Your team lead directs the engineer daily. You work together without us in between.
We align working hours so you get answers on the day you ask questions.
Your repositories, tickets, environments and channels are equally accessible from their first morning.
You get a written onboarding plan setting what the hire owns each week.
We manage payroll, benefits, taxes and compliance without adding to your HR system.
Add or reduce your team as scope changes, with notice periods agreed beforehand.
We replace anyone who does not fit and pay for the replacement search.

Planning your staff augmentation engagement
An engineer needs the same access and working arrangements as your employees to contribute fully. We establish those through daily work. They join your standup, use your board and follow your code review rules in the same channels as everyone else. With these arrangements in place from week one, the distinction fades. Team culture cannot compensate for practical barriers that keep the engineer separate from your staff.
You retain control and visibility. Your team lead assigns tasks, sets priorities, reviews work and gives performance feedback. We handle sourcing, employment, compliance and continuity. We do not direct the engineer's daily tasks. If we start doing that, we have changed the arrangement into outsourcing. Tell us if this happens so your lead keeps the authority you agreed.
Onboarding takes weeks, not days, and we plan for that cost. Netguru estimates roughly 320 engineering hours lost when a developer joins a project, a realistic scale for planning. We shorten that period by briefing the engineer and arranging access before day one, with time alongside the person who knows the work. Ignoring the onboarding period only makes it take longer than it needs to.
We find a replacement and pay for the search. A replacement still disrupts your work, and the new engineer needs part of the onboarding period again. We reduce the loss of context by documenting who owns the work. We arrange overlap when the schedule allows it, and keep suitable people available for the roles we place most often. That helps the next person continue the work.
Your fee covers four things. We search for someone who fits, beyond whoever is available. We handle employment and compliance outside your books. We provide replacement cover when a placement fails, and assign someone to manage its performance. If you can do all four yourself, hiring a contractor directly costs less. That is a reasonable choice when you want those responsibilities.
Questions about staff augmentation
How is staff augmentation different from outsourcing the project to an agency?
With outsourcing, you specify the result and the agency decides how to deliver it. Staff augmentation changes who handles hiring. The engineer joins your existing team, uses your board and follows your architecture. Your lead directs their working week. You keep responsibility for the plan and receive the engineer's contribution. If you want another company to own the plan and result, outsourcing is the right arrangement.
What is the difference between staff augmentation and a dedicated team?
A dedicated team works on your product as a continuing group, managed together under its own lead. With augmentation, individuals join the team you manage. Duration usually determines which arrangement makes sense. Published comparisons place the point where costs balance at around 9 to 12 months. Use that as a guide: augmentation suits short, specific staffing gaps, while a dedicated team suits broader needs over a longer period.
How fast can someone start, and when are they actually productive?
A start date depends on how scarce the skills are and the candidate's notice period. A few weeks is common; a few days is less realistic. Useful work follows in stages. Expect small contributions in the first two weeks and ownership of tickets by the second month. Full productivity comes after the engineer has experienced a complete release cycle with your team.
Can we interview and reject candidates before they join?
Yes. We screen candidates before sending you a shortlist, saving you the initial resume review. You then conduct your own technical interview and can reject anyone for any reason, even one you cannot explain. Each rejection helps us understand requirements missing from the job description and improve the next shortlist. We only start a placement when you have explicitly approved the person.
What is included in the rate?
Your rate includes the engineer's compensation, employment taxes, benefits and statutory contributions. It also covers account management and replacement coverage for the placement. Licenses and hardware specific to your company are usually separate because your environment and procurement determine those requirements. Request a detailed breakdown before signing so you can assess each part of the fee and identify any provider unwilling to explain its charges.
How do you handle IP, NDAs, and code ownership?
You own everything the engineer writes for you. We assign those rights in the contract before work starts. The engineer and their employer both sign NDAs, keeping confidentiality obligations in force after the placement ends. You also control system access and permissions, including revoking them when the engagement closes. Ask your counsel to read the assignment clause directly. A summary from us or another provider cannot replace that review.
